About CostJA

CostJA is Jamaica's practical cost-and-decision guide for building, renovating, buying, financing, and maintaining property. The goal is simple: help people understand what things actually cost before they commit money to a build, a purchase, or a renovation.

CostJA is built for Jamaicans living in Jamaica and for the Jamaican diaspora in the United States, Canada, and the UK who are planning a build or purchase from overseas. It's a resource for first-time homebuilders, property buyers, investors, and homeowners researching contractors, architects, surveyors, engineers, and lenders.

This is not a general Jamaica lifestyle or travel site. It's a pricing and planning utility, built around ranges, breakdowns, and calculators rather than opinion pieces.

CostJA is an early-stage product. Figures currently shown across the site are labeled sample data while a sourced, Jamaica-specific cost dataset is built out. See the methodology page for details.
